The role of WCG is to support county-wide system operations alongside nonprofit providers, primarily through working within the field of coaching and leadership development in the affordable housing sector, with a focus on emergent techniques of service delivery built through an equity lens.  WCG clients are leaders tasked to drive action within the sector and must meet demand for continuous performance improvement, responsible strategy, demonstrable value, and a total commitment to people. Understanding these drivers for change and embracing a design philosophy that maximizes output requires a deep understanding of our client's priorities and the environments in which they operate. WCG helps clients to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in achieving their desired outcomes. By recognizing the value of change founded in equitable access to quality supportive services and the strength of evidence-based policy and practice, our Project Operations Consultants focus on facilitating and assisting sustainable solutions supported by best-practice research and community building while prioritizing investment in equity and inclusion.

About the Position
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Intern will report to and work closely with the Principal to handle assigned duties for the WCG team. This person will handle supportive administrative duties for the Principal in all efforts. This position will experience first-hand how ethical nonprofit consulting can be achieved. Lisa Watson, Principal, is well-known as a community leader who believes in supporting young leadership. This position will also be responsible for support with other substantive and creative duties including tasks to complete reports or other work product based on client’s deliverables. This is a position in a small team that has room for growth for a committed individual. 
The ideal candidate is a confident self-starter and team player with extraordinarily strong written communication skills who is comfortable working in an organization where initiative, fresh ideas, and work ethic are valued and rewarded.


  • Compose and type correspondences 
  • Make and calendar appointments 
  • Conduct research on specific topics and prepare information for assigned special projects
  • Use various software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software to prepare reports and/or special projects 
  • Compose meeting agendas, take minutes, and assign and assign follow-up tasks
  • Support planning of events including making flyers, arranging food, sites, etc. 
  • Provide support on Zoom: breakout rooms, jam boards, etc.

Contract Term

  • Part-time quarterly position, estimated 13-15 hours per week 
  • Monthly Stipend: $800 (alternatively, can be for credit for enrolled students) 
  • Hybrid work model between home and office in Pasadena area 
  • Ability to travel a plus, Intern may support with meetings in various parts of Los Angeles County (this expectation will increase as safety conditions regarding COVID-19 are increasingly met)
