About the Position
Under the direct supervision of the Principal, the Administrative Assistant will report to and work closely with the Principal to handle clerical duties for the WCG team. This person will be responsible for administrative duties including managing the Principal’s calendar, inbox, appointments, calls, and supporting the Principal in all efforts. This position will experience first-hand how ethical nonprofit consulting can be achieved. Lisa Watson, Principal, is well-known as a community leader who believes in supporting young leadership. This position will also be responsible for substantive and creative duties including providing research and writing and accomplishing editorial and design tasks on reports based on client’s deliverables. This is a position in a small team that has room for growth for a committed individual. 
The ideal candidate is a confident self-starter and team player with extraordinarily strong written communication skills who is comfortable working in an organization where initiative, fresh ideas, and work ethic are valued and rewarded.

Responsibilities of Administrative Assistant   

  • Compose and type correspondences for the Principal 
  • Manage the Principal’s calendar, including making appointments for the Principal and firm members
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records, documents, and reports for the entire firm 
  • Conduct research on specific topics and prepare information for assigned special projects
  • Use various software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software to prepare reports and/or special projects 
  • Compose meeting agendas, take minutes, and assign and complete follow-up tasks
  • Provide support on Zoom: breakout rooms, jam boards, etc. 
  • Update the WCG webpage and manage limited, work-related social media for the Principal 
  • Provide general support on all projects as assigned




  • Strong technical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Extraordinarily strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing skills
  • Good time-management habits, ability to multi-task and work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas in an accessible manner
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion 
  • Minimum two (2) years comparable job experience



  • Experience carrying out projects that involve policy and/or systems change with operations, program planning, and/or evaluation projects centered on services benefitting youth
  • Experience within a consulting firm or relevant Los Angeles County agency
  • Portfolio that includes sample presentations and technical writing
  • Experience working with indigenous populations is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish (oral and written) is a plus

Contract Term

  • FTE Exempt: salary Range $44,000 - $50,000 Annual 
  • Benefits: Two weeks paid vacation annually (employer-sponsored health plan not available)
  • Hybrid work model: combined remote and in-office hours (office located in Pasadena area) 
  • Must have ability to travel, position may be required attend meetings in various parts of Los Angeles County (this expectation will increase as safety conditions regarding COVID-19 are increasingly met)
