DIY Girls’ mission is to increase girls’ interest in technology, engineering and making through innovative educational experiences. DIY Girls provides STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)-based educational programs and workshops designed to promote girls’ engagement and exploration with technology, encourage self-confidence and support aspiration to technical careers.

Position​ ​Summary: The Programs & Partnerships Coordinator will directly support the Director of Programs & Partnerships with leading and managing the day-to-day operations of programs as well as maintaining relationships with partners interested in engaging directly with our program participants. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who enjoys working with external partners; highly motivated and organized with strong attention to detail; and committed to empowering girls from low-income backgrounds. 

This is a full‐time (40 hours per week), Non-Exempt level position. Hourly rate: $20-23 per hour, dependent on experience. Benefits include: Vacation Time; Sick Time; Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance; Life Insurance. This position will be temporarily remote until local health guidelines allow offices to open. The office is located in Pacoima (Northeast San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles), with some travel to school and partner sites.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive relationships with school administrators, teachers and school-based partners
  • Support and manage program instructors (prepare lesson plans & materials, identify needs, and provide feedback)
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the programs team to ensure alignment and continuous communication
  • Disseminate program updates to various constituents (students, parents, school staff, partners)
  • Organize and lead program orientations and end of program showcases
  • Manage, order and track the inventory of program materials while tracking expenditures
  • Oversee classroom facilities to ensure spaces are appropriately setup for DIY Girls programs (review processes and procedures, curriculum, and lesson plans) 
  • Represent DIY Girls at community events and workshops as needed
  • Serve as main point of contact for any partners interested in volunteering their time at our programs or sponsoring a field trip for our program participants
  • Maintain clear and detailed communication between programs and partners related to activities/events scheduled (coordinating, preparing, and following up)
  • Other duties as assigned with a primary focus on supporting program operations/events



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work independently and lead/manage a team
  • Results-oriented and self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in technology, engineering and hands-on DIY projects
  • Ability to produce high quality work in a fast paced environment
  • Spanish speaker preferred
