Position Overview: The Organizational Consulting Accounts Manager will be experienced, highly organized and passionate about helping transform our community with the power of coaching, consulting and capacity building through our unique, volunteer-based business model.  This position is responsible for the oversight of consulting engagements implemented by our 100+ executive-level volunteer consultants by: 

  • Cultivating and nurturing client and consultant relationships
  • Managing and evaluating engagements to ensure excellent outcomes
  • Developing and expanding our service capacity and effectiveness through continuous process improvement


Reports to: Vice President of Organizational Consulting

Supervises: Organizational Consulting Coordinator

Position: Permanent, Full-time, Exempt

This position will work remotely until ESC resumes our work in person, at which point, the position will likely be hybrid (remote and in-person).

Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Generous benefit package including health, dental, life, 403b program, paid holidays including paid time off between Christmas Eve and New Year, sick and vacation time.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Vice President of Organizational Consulting, the Organizational Consulting Accounts Manager facilitates the service delivery of leadership coaching, strategic planning, board development, fund development and other client needs. S/he is responsible for helping finalize scopes for consulting engagements, ensuring successful engagement outcomes, cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients and consultants, monitoring the success of each engagement, and designing and improving project management processes.  The Accounts Manager will also collaborate with the Vice President on business development strategy, implementation of special projects, and client and business development efforts. 

The key tasks and areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Client Project Management

  • Helps organize, launch and evaluate engagements
  • Takes primary responsibility for the management, execution and monitoring of consulting engagements to ensure consistent, excellent service
  • Fosters continuing positive and productive relationships with ESC clients
  • Supports the design, crafting and execution of new service offerings in alignment with ESC’s strategic plan
  • Ensures maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of consultation progress
  • Works with ESC’s Salesforce & IT Administrator to implement ongoing improvements to tracking systems (including the SalesForce CRM system,) data collection and use of data for business development strategy
  • Proactively develops/identifies opportunities for new and repeat business from our extensive community of satisfied nonprofit clients


Consultation Support

  • Effectively addresses complex client and consultant needs
  • Seeks and implements project management process improvements 
  • Ensures clients, consultants and ESC team are informed and makes recommendations for areas of additional training focus for consultant corps
  • Supervises interns and other staff as needed


Quality Assurance and Evaluation

  • Drives ongoing evaluation initiative to track client and consultant feedback 
  • Provides consultants with timely feedback – acknowledging strengths and achievements, and providing constructive coaching regarding gaps in performance or results
  • Develops evaluation reports and analyses for different audiences


ESC Team Collaboration

  • Works with team on consultant recruitment to diversify consulting corps
  • Partners with ESC’s Programs and Training team for seamless consultant and client support
  • Assists with consultant appreciation and informational events
  • Other duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with a focus relevant to consulting, nonprofit management or coaching preferred; supervisory or volunteer management experience a plus
  • Strong background in the oversight and coordination of consulting or related professional roles
  • Tech savvy; familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Salesforce a plus
  • Superb relationship builder; establishes credibility and trust quickly
  • Familiarity with and involvement in the nonprofit sector preferred 
  • Background or interest in sales or fund development with a strong customer service orientation
  • Culturally competent; values and has experience with diverse constituencies
  • Highly organized with superior attention to detail
