Ready to Succeed (RTS) is a Career Accelerator that provides talented college students who have been impacted by foster care with the resources, relationships and opportunities they need to graduate from college and reach their full potential.  Through career coaching,  professional network building, internships and financial support, RTS equips scholars to pursue successful careers and build meaningful lives. In January 2021, we will celebrate our fifth year anniversary.  In that time, we have more than doubled the students we serve annually, and we have grown to a full-time team of 7. Apply to the RTS Program and Development Coordinator role and join our efforts to further support our students. 

Position Responsibilities: 
We are seeking a RTS Program and Development Coordinator to support our work and those two teams respectively.  

Event Management: 
Support program and development departments in the planning logistics and executing of remote and in- person events. 
Duties include: 

  • Invite list management via Salesforce
  • Email outreach and  reminders, tracking invites, etc. 


Communications/Content Creation: 
Duties include: 

  • Create email templates for fundraising campaigns using Mailchimp and other software
  • Assist in gathering and formatting content for and distributing monthly newsletters
  • Manage and execute mail communication and calls to donors under $1,000
  • Research donor prospects and potential company sponsors 
  • Creation of announcements and other information for scholars using Canva, email 


Information Management/CRM Data: 
Duties include: 

  • Run development reports and keep track of lapsed donors and segmented lists 
  • Manage scholar/student records in SF and other documents with relevant updates 
  • Maintain all other Salesforce records (employer partners, professional contacts/supporters, etc) with current information and updates

Other administrative and support duties may be requested as needed.  The above is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and may change at any time without notice as per the needs of the organization. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • At least one (1) year of relevant full-time professional office experience in a similar support role in business or non profit sectors 
  • Experience working remotely, reporting to at least one supervisor 
  • Strong demonstrated skills in writing, communication, presentation, time and project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including ability to put together various marketing materials using Canva, Google Sheets/Docs/Slides/Forms, Microsoft Suite, and other platforms
  • Zoom and Google Hangout professional usage experience, back end management
  • Database management experience, excel database will be considered but Salesforce or other comparable CRM preferred  
  • Attention to detail and a sense of urgency, as well as productivity is crucial 
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, capacity to work independently as part of an organizational team and multi-tasking proficiency


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • We're casual and informal but we work hard and work responsibly. A pleasant, supportive and professional demeanor goes a long way.
  • Experience in Salesforce, Canva, Mail Chimp or other platforms 
  • Interest in the non-profit industry  
  • Personal lived experience or professional experience with the foster youth community preferred


Duration: The start date is ASAP.  Both Ready to Succeed and this role will retain their respective right to At-Will employment. This role works a schedule of Monday-Friday, approximately 9-6 pm. Some after-hours or weekend work may be required depending on business needs. The Company provides a paid one hour for lunch. 

Compensation: This is a non-exempt full-time established role at RTS. Compensation range is commensurate with experience, $40,000 - $48,000 annual. RTS offers a generous vacation allotment, as well as other benefits including HRA, Simple IRA, cell phone stipend and more. 

Location: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the government recommendations of Work From Home arrangements, this role will be remote until further notice. Onboarding will also be done remotely. The expectation is that this role will be based in-person, in the office once it is deemed safe and necessary to return. Our current office is in Santa Monica, CA.
