Description

PLUS ME Project is a community partner dedicated to empowering youth to build their confidence by teaching the art of storytelling. We believe everyone has a story that matters and enjoy uplifting audiences with inspirational storytelling. We are looking for an experienced, energetic, and charismatic individual to deliver motivational personal narrative presentations, workshops, and training sessions to students virtually and in-person.

Position: As a PLUS ME Facilitator you will visit different school sites (virtually or in person) throughout Southern California to conduct storytelling presentations and workshops. This work will include sharing your own personal academic journey and delivering PLUS ME curriculum in a workshop setting. This part-time position will vary on hours based on time of year and number of opportunities scheduled throughout the school year (on average 5 – 10 hours per week).

Role Expectations:

Dynamic Delivery

  • Draft and deliver personal narrative to inspire, motivate, and connect with audiences 
  • Deliver engaging content inside classrooms to students or virtually
  • Interact with diverse audiences with a positive demeanor consistent with PLUS ME
  • Provide and receive feedback for improvement of professional performance
  • Participate in trainings and coaching sessions to improve skill and craft

Preparation and Logistics

  • Maintain and manage an up-to-date personal calendar/schedule with primary flexibility on Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 3 PM
  • Respond to emails and correspondence from PLUS ME and partnering schools
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various school sites throughout the city
  • Access to the internet and familiarity with presentation and conferencing services (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) 

 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or current college 3rd/4th year student 
  • 2+ years of public speaking and/or facilitation experience 
  • Direct experience and passion for working with youth
