Community Partners seeks a full time, hourly (non-exempt) Accounts Receivable Assistant. Reporting to the Controller, this position provides support the Finance and Administration team in activities pertaining to revenues and other finance duties as assigned.


  • Finance
  • Review, code, and process all online donations for 180+ sponsored project
  • Code and process all cash, check and wire receipts, work with Grants staff for allocation of funds
  • Inform project leader of all donations received from all online platforms (eg. PayPal, Network for Good)
  • Set-up online donation pages and accounts. Ensure project leaders understand and comply with policies and procedures regarding revenue stream from online fundraising and credit card donations Train project staff on procedures and usage of online platforms and software
  • Send out a monthly report of all online revenues to project leaders
  • Prepare a report reconciling all online donations from multiple platforms and process JE to record cash receipts
  • Provide customer service on resolving issues related to online fundraising, online payments and donor-related concerns, respond to inquiries regarding online platforms. 
  • Provide technical assistance in areas of online tasks and services and software and hardware support. Assist with implementation of upgrades of new online platforms and software solutions.


Other tasks

  • Create journal entries for end-of-month activities as needed. 
  • Prepare and file quarterly estimated sales tax with the CA Department of Tax and Fee Administration
  • Set-up purchasing online accounts for projects and maintain user databases.
  • Review and approve project purchases based on available cash balance.
  • Request quotes and process order requests on behalf of project leaders and CP core staff. 
  • Respond to inquiries concerning purchasing programs and account information. 
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing other duties as needed. 


The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, frequently required to walk and stand. The employee must also use their hands to operate office equipment and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally climb, stoop, kneel or bend. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with special needs to perform essential job duties.

Hourly rate $18.00 - $20.20
Benefits include paid holidays and vacation, a 403(b) plan with employer match, medical, dental, vision, flex spending, metro pass, and a range of professional development opportunities. Community Partners has a 9/80 work week option under which employees may elect to work 80 hours in 9 days and take every other Friday off (after completion of introductory period).

Must possess basic finance and accounting knowledge, preferably in a nonprofit environment.  Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail required. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Salesforce and Accufund desirable.  Ability to work well with others in a team environment. College degree or equivalent work experience given preference.
