Call for Teaching Artists
826LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
We are seeking a Teaching Artist to lead our six-week virtual Journalism writing workshop with an emphasis on Social Justice issues.
826LA’s Journalism Workshops Series - During our six-week program, students learn to brainstorm, research, write, and edit their own news articles culminating in a published digital newspaper. The student’s accomplishments are celebrated with a release party.
This is a contract position. Teaching Artists will receive a stipend of $250 per session for four workshop sessions. Previous digital newspaper: 826la.org/vivatimes

The position is open to all, QTBIPOC are highly encouraged to apply. Submit an abstract of how you would approach leading this workshop series Provide links to previous work and/or a sample lesson plan. Provide a short bio.
