The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation is a Los Angeles-based, private foundation established in 1982 that is dedicated to improving communities in Southern California and Israel. We support nonprofit organizations in the areas of college access, arts education, Alzheimer’s research and caregiving, land use and parks, Jewish life, economic development and education in Israel, and programs at UCLA and UC Berkeley. Our grantmaking continues the philanthropic vision of Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert who were committed philanthropists, accomplished art collectors and successful entrepreneurs. Position Summary
The Foundation Administrator will be based in our Century City office and will provide administrative and organizational support to the Foundation’s core business team: real estate property management, grantmaking and finance/accounting. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy individual with strong written and verbal skills. Applicant must enjoy working in a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-focused, and community oriented. She/he/they will demonstrate initiative, be resourceful and an excellent multi-tasker, and take ownership of projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will be inspired by our mission and have a strong desire to grow and to learn from a Foundation’s perspective within the nonprofit sector. This position reports to the Foundation Trustees and is supervised on a day-to-day basis by our Executive Business Support staff member.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets and reports
  • Assist with grant and tenant lease agreements and amendments ensuring the accuracy of all 
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and general correspondence
  • Oversee grants database to ensure full legal, tax, and audit compliance
  • Provide support during our annual financial audit, research, and follow through
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, site visits, retreats, travel, reservations, catering
  • Provide administrative and clerical support, including maintaining our cloud filing system and paper-free environment

 

Primary Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas: business administration, organizational mgmt., philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, property management, real estate, finance/accounting 
  • Excellent verbal, written and organization skills and a keen eye to detail
  • Exemplary tech skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn other software, including applications specific to real estate, grantmaking and accounting
  • Ability to develop excellent relationships with tenants, grantees, and vendors in all areas of the Foundation’s business
  • Perform with a high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality

 

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary range of $58,000-$62,000, depending on experience
  • Generous benefits package, including 401(k), paid holidays/vacation, medical/dental/vision insurance

  • Relocation expenses are not covered for this position
