Headquartered in a renovated National Guard Armory in Culver City, the Wende Museum, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization is an experimental and forward-thinking institution that pairs unparalleled collections from the Cold War era with contemporary artists, filmmakers, musicians, scholars, and others. With a commitment to both international scholarship and local community engagement, the Wende offers wide-ranging programs.  

Responsibilities Summary

  • The part-time Accounting Assistant directly supports the Director of Finance and will:
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payables electronically - including invoice review, W-9 collection, coding, data entry and processing payments
  • Reconcile company credit cards, collect receipts and descriptions for coding
  • Resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances/RUN reports
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Skills and Experience 

  • Minimum of three years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.  Advanced education is preferred
  • QBO experience preferred
  • Proficient in gmail, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat and Apple operating system


Part-time staff position, 2-3 weekdays, 12 hrs/wk, with possibility of increase in hours.  Will work remote until LA County restrictions allow return to the Museum. 

Pay: $22-24/hr, depending on experience
