The Marketing Director is a key position at Cause Communications. A seasoned communications and marketing professional with exceptional client/account management and people skills, the Marketing Director is responsible for leading marketing initiatives on behalf of one or more client accounts, as well as Cause’s own marketing activities. This position will also contribute to our field-building work to help other nonprofits build their marketing capacity. The Marketing Director will have a unique opportunity to apply marketing best practices and drive bold new ideas as a senior member of several cross-functional teams. The right candidate will bring a strategic mindset; top-notch skills in social impact marketing; and a positive, team-oriented attitude to the job. Like us, the ideal person for this position embodies our values: excellence, quality, substance, vision, energy, warmth, and authenticity.

  • In collaboration with the Vice President, contribute to the development of new tools and resources for the field related to nonprofit marketing

ORGANIZATION MARKETING AND OUTREACH

  • Lead the organization’s marketing strategy and tactics, in order to ensure Cause outreach efforts are creative (authentic/unique/in our voice), effective (educate/share info/lift up best practices/attract donors and clients), and consistent (brand ambassador role) across all channels, including social media, emails/newsletter, and website
  • Lead or contribute to the preparation and implementation of new business proposals and pitches
  • Oversee a strong collection of case studies and other materials that showcase the organization’s experience and expertise
  • Participate in networking opportunities including trainings, speaking engagements, and industry conferences

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

  • Mentor and support team members working on marketing projects and contribute to their short- and long-term professional development
  • Stay abreast of industry news and trends
