We are seeking an Operations Assistant to help keep Cause Communications humming. We’ll keep you on your toes juggling multiple tasks daily, from screening and directing phone calls and visitors, to providing administrative and project management support and maintaining our operations systems. You will be expected to comfortably communicate with all levels of staff, vendors, and freelancers to enforce deadlines, uphold processes, and gather the information you need to get your job done.   • Serve as the face of the company, offering a friendly, professional and polished demeanor in person and over the phone
  • Support employee recognition and development efforts
  • Provide limited administrative support to staff, including scheduling, document creation, research, travel arrangements, and errands, among others
  • Assist with ongoing administrative tasks, database management, and staff meetings
  • Troubleshoot daily operational issues, with support from Operations Director



  • Ensure continuous front desk coverage, screening & directing calls and visitorsMaintain clean and orderly office appearance, including the kitchen area and preparing the conference room for meetings
  • Maintain clean and orderly office appearance, including the kitchen area & conference room
  • Administer voicemail system, including holiday messages, coordinating repairs/maintenance
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, couriers, shipments, and the master calendar
  • Maintain paper & electronic filing systems and implement new systems as needed
  • Coordinate weekly & monthly inventory and supply procurement, with support from Operations Director



  • Assist Senior Project Manager with monitoring and updating project timelines
  • Enter data into the project management database, including purchase orders, budgets, timelines, contacts, and grants information
  • Provide support on the execution of contracts and agreements with partners, contractors, and vendors
  • Research potential venues, vendors, and services
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for trainings and events
  • Gather and disseminate assets and materials to team members
  • Compile and synthesize data for both internal and client-facing reports



  • Support team with client research and initiatives
  • Assist Project Management, Marketing, and Account staff in the production of client- and agency-related materials, including capabilities kits, presentations, and training materials
  • Proofing and copy-editing




  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable training and experience
  • Agency or nonprofit experience preferred but not required



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, internally and externally, and a friendly, professional, and positive demeanor
  • Comfortable providing administrative support with a strong work ethic and enthusiastic approach to daily endeavors
  • Proactive thinker and resourceful problem-solver looking ahead to upcoming projects and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate with the team
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, excellent Internet research skills, and familiarity with working with databases
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Valid California Driver’s License & access to reliable transportation for occasional errands a plus


The Operations Assistant is a full-time position reporting to the Operations Director, working closely with all staff.
