Urban Voices Project uses music to create supportive community spaces that bridge vulnerable individuals to a self-expression and improved health. Our music workshops engage men, women and families across the greater Los Angeles area in partnership with social, civic and healthcare organizations throughout LA County use music as a bridge to housing, healthcare and social services for our fellow neighbors experiencing or with prior experience of homelessness. Urban Voices Project’s outreach ensemble performances shift the narrative and perception of homelessness in today’s society.
Position Summary: The Marketing Associate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a communications and marketing plan to support and advance Urban Voices Project’s mission. This position will report to and work closely with the Artistic Director on PR, media and social media, and with the Operations Director on mail campaigns, newsletters. Initial 3 Month Contract:
Website - The goal of much of content will be to drive traffic to the website.
Develop YouTube Channel
MOVING FORWARD: If effective systems have been put into place for the above digital strategy and the associate now has the capacity to begin working on communications and PR as defined in the UVP Marketing and Communications Associate Job Description, clear parameters for those expectations will be laid out together at that time.
Event Marketing Coordination
You are driven, highly organized, and are comfortable working independently or in a team- based setting. A commitment to social justice, and flexibility to adapt to the change inherent to a rapidly scaling startup are essential. Passion for music is a plus!
Compensation : This is a part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week, to be undertaken remotely and in Downtown Los Angeles. Depending on experience, starting wage will be $18-22/hour. Benefits include working with a passionate and driven team to grow an innovative program that truly makes a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
