ABOUT THE POSITION
Infinite Flow, a growing nonprofit and professional dance company composed of dancers with and without disabilities using dance to inspire inclusion and innovation, is looking for an energetic part-time intern to support our inaugural conference, Purpose Driven Dance, which will gather together a community of people seeking to use dance as a force for good.
You will get hands-on experience working closely with the leadership of a non-profit, social enterprise, and acclaimed professional dance company; helping produce the first-of-its-kind conference. We're seeking a hardworking individual with a positive attitude who is excited about learning and passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating positive social change.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Coordination

  • Assist with logistics for the 2020 Conference, including but not limited to:
    • Researching and communicating with vendors and in-kind sponsors
    • Submitting specs and obtaining signage.
    • Putting together and organizing gift bags.
    • Creating and organization name badges
    • Ordering and/or picking up materials, as needed.
    • Other needs as assigned by supervisor.
  • Support with day-of event needs, including but not limited to:
    • Event setup and breakdown.
    • Setting up materials – signage, programs, gift bags, etc.
    • Setting up and manning the registration table.
    • Ushering and directing attendees between sessions.
    • Ensure F&B deliveries and set-up is accurate.
    • Assisting with vendor booth set-up.
    • Ordering and/or picking up materials, as needed
    • Answering questions and concerns from attendees, volunteers, speakers, and any other interested parties.
    • Other needs as assigned by supervisor.

 

Administrative Support

  • Assist with research and procurement of in-kind donations and sponsorships.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Organize digital assets from speakers, panelists, vendors and sponsors.
  • Create and update call sheets with phone numbers for all team members, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Create/update documentation including but not limited to:
    • Instructions for individuals traveling into LA (e.g. list of nearby airports, hotel accommodation options, local transportation info, etc.)
    • Venue layout map and key areas.
    • Parking maps and instructions.
    • FAQ’s doc/webpage, etc.
  • Monitoring and flagging or responding to questions/concerns from attendees, volunteers, vendors and speakers.
  • Ordering and/or picking up materials, as needed.
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must live in Los Angeles County with the ability to travel locally, when needed.
  • Ability to devote 10 hours/week to this internship from March 23 - May 29
  • Available to work during the event days: Saturday, May 23-Monday, May 26.
  • Passionate about diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, belonging and creating positive social change.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to work independently, self-direct, think outside the box, solve problems creatively and accomplish goals without explicit direction.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work from home, with access to a personal computer and reliable internet connection.
  • Event or project management experience a plus.
  • Be legally allowed to work in the United States

 

COMPENSATION
$15/hr. (Not to exceed 10 hours per week unless directly requested and approved by supervisor).

DURATION
March 23 - May 29 (10 weeks)
