Job Description
The Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) is a cultural center that creates public art and arts programming as a vehicle to promote civic dialogue, foster cross-cultural understanding and address critical social issues.

SPARC is seeking a qualified Vocal Music Teaching Artist to join our Arts Education team! SPARC Teaching Artists lead innovative and interdisciplinary arts workshops that support students in learning about culture, identity, community and social justice.

The Teaching Artist will lead a 10-week vocal music workshop with an integrated visual arts component for 1st and 2nd grade classrooms in Los Angeles from March-June 2020. Job responsibilities include developing a 10- week curriculum, facilitating workshops at an elementary school campus in Los Angeles, and supporting students in completing a culminating project that can be shared with their families and school community.

This position includes teaching in Spanish/English dual language classrooms. All applicants must be fluent in Spanish and English.

Qualifications

  • Experience practicing and/or facilitating an artistic discipline
  • Experience working with K-12 students
  • Fluent in Spanish and English

 

Approximate Hours Per Week: 4-8 hours per week

Pay: $35 per hour
