Position: Youth Program Coordinator
Reports to: Youth Engagement Project Manager
Position Overview
The Youth Program Coordinator is a regular full-time, non-exempt hourly position, fiscally sponsored by the Movement Strategy Center’s Innovation Center. The Coordinator provides project and administrative support to the Program Manager and The California Endowment’s Youth Programs team on youth engagement work, including but not limited to, the President’s Youth Council—a statewide, intergenerational body of youth who provide thought leadership, youth perspective, and candid feedback on TCE’s campaign and strategies in the pursuit of Health and Justice across California. This individual will work with relevant staff and consultants to support youth engagement in TCE’s work. The California Endowment, a private, statewide health foundation, was established in 1996 to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians. The Endowment challenges the conventional wisdom that medical settings and individual choices are solely responsible for people's health. The Endowment believes that health happens in neighborhoods, schools, and with prevention. Since 2010, TCE has increasingly integrated youth organizing and youth engagement as part of its strategy as part of its Building Healthy Communities initiative.

Core Responsibilities
TCE Youth Engagement Support

  • Provide event planning and logistical support for all President’s Youth Council meetings and youth event engagement work, including but not limited to, travel arrangements, hotels, catering, reimbursements finances.
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials and technology for meetings.
  • Maintain written documents for all youth and community engagement meetings, including but not limited to, agenda, meeting minutes.
  • Schedule and organize meetings and events
  • Research and prepare reports on relevant topics to TCE’s Youth Engagement work.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met.


Minimum Education Experience: Combination of significant work experience and education.

Qualifications & Working Conditions

  • At least two years of experience working in admin, project coordination, or program support.
  • Preferred experience in youth related projects, youth development and/or youth organizing
  • Demonstrated strong personal organization skills that enable individual to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to set priorities to ensure that the most important tasks are addressed in a timely manner
  • Strong time management skills
  • Accomplishment and outcomes driven: Has demonstrated the ability to team with others within an organization to get things done
  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills, and ability to synthesize information
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Is able to be candid when sharing information; provides information in a professional manner, and respects confidences of others
  • Knowledge or interest in equity, race and social justice
  • Some weekend and evening calls, travel, and meetings required
  • Occasional travel to regions across California (~25% local travel)
  • Remote with preference in Southern California
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Annual gross pay range of $45,000 - $55,000 (@100%FTE), commensurate with experience.
  • MSC’s 100% FTE benefits package includes:
