As an impact manager, you would be a part of the team responsible for bringing computer science to Los Angeles schools in underserved communities. Your role would be to oversee the implementation of this transformative CS education at a select number of school sites while managing a small team of 9 Dots instructors (Coding Coordinators) teaching in the classroom. 

Management Responsibilities

  • Uphold 9 Dots’ mission and values
  • Mentor cohort of 4 Coding Coordinators on their development as 9 Dots employees
  • Hold biweekly 1:1s with Coding Coordinators (or more frequently as needed) 
  • Actively participate in onboarding and training of Coding Coordinators
  • Ensure Coding Coordinators are able to execute their job responsibilities
  • Work with other Impact Manager to develop an exceptional program experience for Coding Coordinators
  • Serve as a Coding Coordinator substitute as needed 


School Site Management + Teacher Support 

  • Manage and maintain school community and principal relationships across multiple school sites
  • Develop and maintain relationships with school administrators and site teachers
  • Deliver exceptional professional development, developed by 9 Dots, to partner teachers
  • Hold at least 2 one-on-one coaching sessions with beginner teachers during 9 Dots class hours
  • Check-in regularly with teachers who have graduated from our program at school sites to facilitate their teaching of CS independently
  • Communicate school site needs regularly and timely to Program Lead
  • Deliver quarterly data reports to school partners
  • Assist in scheduling and logistics of program implementation at school sites


Program Operations

  • Assist in program improvement initiatives 
  • Report to Program Lead on progress of Coding Coordinators, school culture updates, and unmet needs of school sites or site teachers
  • Actively participate in School Success sprint process and projects

  • Actively develop depth and scope of craft mastery



  • A commitment to our mission
  • Transportation with ability to travel to multiple school sites in a timely manner during school hours
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, as well as to implement and follow through
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Strong self-manager, solid executer, and proactive communicator
  • Background in computer science or desire to learn 



  • Experience teaching in a Title 1 school or equivalent
  • Experience managing or coaching instructors
  • Experience working with elementary age students
