SEEKING: MARKETING & EVENTS INTERN

Help the U.S. Green Building Council of Los Angeles (USGBC-LA) further develop the voice and brand leading the local Green Building Movement. As a Marketing and Events Intern you will assist with the production of social media, newsletter content, and help execute on events. This internship is slated to begin in the Fall of 2019 and will work closely with the Marketing and Events Manager.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate is passionate about both sustainability and marketing as a tool to drive cultural change. They are eager to promote green building practices, highlighting the people and projects that lead our industry while diving into the data the drives engagement.

TASKS:

  • Create, edit, and audit building profiles in Energy Star Portfolio Manager
  • Analyze, compile, and review utility related data for properties
  • Reach out to building representatives to verify building characteristics and inquire about building utility management practices at the property
  • Audit internal documents and reports to gather relevant building information
  • Conduct brief interviews with property management teams to gain understanding or buildings usage patterns

 

SKILLS NEEDED:

Applicant must be knowledgeable with

  • Major social media platforms (IG, FB, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Mailchimp
  • GSuite
  • Basic-level HTML editing capability is a plus.

 

The position will be responsible for assisting with organization and compilation of

  • Newsletter & social media content
  • Newsletter & social media scheduling
  • The building of the chapter’s brand, and
  • The planning and execution of chapter events

 

TIME COMMITMENT & COMPENSATION:

Expectation for this role is 10 – 15 hours per week for three to six months. This internship is unpaid but eligible for school credit (please indicate your interest in receiving credit with your application).
