Reporting to and in partnership with the Executive Director (ED), the Manager of Donor Relations will spearhead Door of Hope’s annual giving and planned giving strategy. In the past two years, Door of Hope has nearly tripled its fundraising support from individuals and family foundations, and we are looking for a gifted, driven individual who can build on this growth and take it to the next level. This person should be passionate about creatively sharing Door of Hope’s vision, expanding our reach and growing our individual donor program to support Door of Hope’s life-changing programs, equipping families to break the cycle of homelessness.


  • In partnership with Executive Director, develop and execute Door of Hope’s annual giving strategy
  • Develop and launch a new planned giving strategy
  • Foster effective relationships with individual donors through regular email, invitations, phone calls, face-to-face meeting, and written reports
  • Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors
  • Equip ED with prospect research, strategy, and systems to manage a portfolio of major donors
  • Act as key player to execute team projects such as monthly tours, bi-annual fundraising events, and PR and Marketing efforts, together with Manager of Volunteers & Events, Manager of Marketing & Community Engagement, and Executive Director

  • Perform any other task necessary to support the mission of Door of Hope


  • 2-4 years of non-profit development experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational and managerial skills
  • Relational savvy and passion for building relationships
  • Creative self-starter with growth and learning mindset
  • Computer Skills: full fluency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with donor management software (ideally Salesforce) and design software (ideally Canva and InDesign) is a plus; ability to learn is a must
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
