Los Angeles

Rise's LA2050 Challenge is a student-led campaign advocating to end college hunger and homelessness in Los Angeles. We are building a student movement to pilot innovative solutions to college student hunger and homelessness this fall semester (or quarter) at campuses across Los Angeles. These solutions will be informed by and co-created with over a dozen campus and community-based organizations who have joined our growing coalition. As our challenge grows, we seek a creative and entreprenurial Organizing Manager to oversee our student organizing efforts in Los Angeles. We are looking for candidates who have the following attributes:

  • Strong interest in developing college students' power to affect policy change
  • 2+ years of experience building grassroots advocacy campaigns
  • Excitement to recruit, train and support new and first-time organizers
  • Entreprenurial mindset for building campaigns, learning new skills, and adapting to dynamic situations
  • Willingness to travel within Los Angeles County on a regular basis (a car is not required, but is a nice to have)
  • Creativity to adapt to rapidly changing contexts
  • Commitment to an inclusive and intersectional approach to organizing

The LA2050 Organizing Manager role is open to current college students as well as non-student professionals, and could be structured as a part-time (25 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week) role. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Please email [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
