My Friends House is looking for a part time coordinator for Health Cooking Programs for Teens and Youth.  We have successful adult healthy cooking programs which we want to expand to middle school and high school students in South Los Angeles.  The goal of the programs is to educate young people to make healthier food choices and increase their intake of fruits and vegetables while still enjoying the foods they love like hamburgers, french fries, and pizza.  Our hope is reducing the chances of their succumbing to those diseases that will greatly impact their lives—obesity, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.

We are looking for a coordinator to be involved with

  • student recruitment and registration
  • supporting the teaching chefs
  • social media and communication
  • create healthy living programs such as urban gardening
  • administrative and development projects

My Friends House Inc is a Food and Wellness Non-Profit in the Crenshaw/Slauson area.  For the past 10 years, we operate a range of programs including weekly food pantry, healthy cooking classes, and nurse screening events.  More information can be found on our website, .

The position is approximately 20 hours per week.  Strong computer skills are a must. Previous non-profit experience and Spanish language skills are desirable.
