Mockingbird Incubator is a Mockingbird incubator is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles that supports and trains early-stage and grassroots nonprofit organizations to increase the impact of their work. We are offering an internship position with our company to a qualified individual who can participate in supporting our daily activities as well as in various client-based projects with small nonprofit organizations.
We are looking for a passionate individual interested in learning more about nonprofit organizations and work in a very hands-on style with them. The intern should be prepared to work in a small startup business and be able to work from home and with minimum supervision. We are looking for someone who can contribute ideas to help grow our business and our client’s social good organizations. We want to create a culture of supportive entrepreneurship, creativity, and diversity within our company and want to work with people who are excited about the same things. Justice and advocacy for all are our long term goals so if you’ve worked in grassroots organizing, progressive causes, or volunteered on campaigns and have a flexible work style this will be a great fit for you.
The intern will be responsible to manage the logistics of our monthly workshops and networking events including marketing, food, managing attendees

Undergraduate or graduate level student in the Los Angeles area who is majoring in business, marketing, communications or another related organizational management field.
Be able to spend approximately 10 to 15 hours per week on tasks related to the internship.
Be able to work at least 1 day a week in person with our team. The rest can be remote work, though we are always happy to spend more time together.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Interest in working with nonprofit organizations.
Knowledge of new communication and collaboration technology and tools (such as Google Drive)
Squarespace knowledge is a plus.
Passionate about growing social good organizations and working in scrappy but quickly growing business
This internship position includes a set monthly stipend. The intern will not be entitled to any additional wages, benefits or other compensation. The intern will receive experience and education in the skills and fields described above and will be provided close supervision and feedback.
