Santee Learning Complex is seeking a dynamic choral educator to teach and grow the School’s Choir program. In addition to preparing vocal ensembles for multiple high-quality performances, teaching general musicianship and overall musical literacy is also an integral part of this position. The Santee Music and Arts Programs fosters student growth through collaborative sequential, comprehensive, and standards aligned arts education. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with both the music and arts faculties and is expected to be an active member of the faculty.
The successful applicant will have a Single Subject Music Credential and experience teaching students of varied learning styles and from diverse populations, possess excellent vocal skills, understand choral repertoire and vocal pedagogy and technique as appropriate for students within these grades and abilities. Candidates must have the ability to develop a curriculum that cultivates an appreciation, interest and engagement in music for students at all levels of ability and interest. Additionally, this person is expected to prepare students to participate in select music groups and to seek out other appropriate musical opportunities for the students.
