Grant Writer, Mar Vista Family Center

The mission of Mar Vista Family Center (MVFC) is to provide low-income families with quality early childhood education, youth enrichment, and educational tools to create positive change in their lives and community. Each program is designed to empower children, teens, and adults to play vital and active roles in their community -- as decision-makers, leaders, mentors, classroom volunteers, and fundraisers.

MVFC organizes its activities into three program areas: Early Childhood Education, Community, and Youth. All programs are based on the MVFC Shared Responsibility Curriculum Model and the philosophy that involving parents as partners in their child's education benefits both parent and child. Each program also features age-appropriate life skills training for parents, helping them develop communications and parenting skills based on their children's age and developmental stage.
