Beacon Economics seeks a Research Operations Manager to join its growing team. S/he will have primary responsibility for a variety of tasks critical to the operation of the research division. The Research Operations Manager will serve as a liaison across multiple practice areas, direct independent projects, and work in a variety of capacities in support of and close collaboration with the Research Director and the Managing Partner. This is a strategic and leadership role within the organization and will work closely with the research leadership team to set direction for the group, improve operations and communications, and ensure the team is strategically aligned with broader firm goals. It is expected research operations responsibilities will require 40 – 80% of time and the remaining 20 – 60% will be focused on research priorities, research and development, and execution based on industry interest, experience and firm priorities.

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or similar. Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines; ability to think outside of the box and develop novel strategies; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; ability to work comfortably with a wide variety of people at different levels within the organization
Data management, including collecting and cleaning data from a variety of data sources and performing data management tasks to prepare data for analysis; a strong understanding of one or several programming languages;
