We’re seeking a communications or marketing student that has a genuine excitement for nonprofit branding and marketing. This is a unique opportunity to put what you’ve learned in the classroom about branding, marketing, social media, and communications to use on platforms engaging Angelinos to end women’s homelessness in Los Angeles.

Essential Functions

  1. Support the agency’s social media plan (for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms)
  2. Support digital and social media marketing campaigns for DWC and MADE by DWC, including design, content creation, and execution
  3. Support with creation and coordination of content for the DWC and MADE by DWC website, social media platforms, special events, building signage, and more; includes photo sourcing, graphic design, and copywriting
  4. Support with creation and coordination of multimedia (audio/video) content for the DWC and MADE by DWC website, DWC and MADE by DWC social media platforms, site visits and tours, events, supporter stories, fundraising campaigns, trainings, and more including camera and lighting set-ups and video, sound checks, and talent placement and action.
  5. Perform administrative tasks relative to the scope of the position
  6. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Schedule and Benefits 
This is a part-time, non-exempt position for 15-24 hours per week. Your work days will be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays within our regular office hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm. This position is not eligible for employee benefits.

Required Education and Knowledge/Skills

  1. Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies, or other related field.
  2. Excellent graphic design and writing skills with ability to gather and synthesize information and perspectives from multiple sources into clear, easy-to-read, engaging formats.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, Google Apps, and emerging media tools.
  4. Demonstrated interest in homelessness, women’s rights, and/or social change.
  5. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve, and work independently.
  6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.
