We’re seeking a savvy social media pro and design whiz that has a genuine love and excitement about digital marketing and engaging communities for an important cause. This is a unique opportunity to unleash your creativity and digital know-how in order to help end women’s homelessness in Los Angeles. S/he must be able to balance the day-to-day needs of departmental creative project requests and manage our multiple social accounts in a detail-oriented, organized, and flexible manner. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Policy, the Branding Specialist is an essential role in the Communications and Policy team.

Essential Functions

  1. Execute the agency’s social media plan (for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging platforms)
  2. Coordinate digital and social media marketing campaigns for DWC and MADE by DWC, including design, content creation, and execution
  3. Creation and coordination of content for the DWC and MADE by DWC website, social media platforms, special events, building signage, and more; includes photo sourcing, graphic design, and copywriting
  4. Take photos for digital marketing efforts, including documenting DWC events, volunteers and VIP visits, MADE by DWC product photos, and other opportunities for visual marketing content
  5. Perform text updates for the DWC and MADE by DWC websites
  6. Work with the Communications team to create, produce, and distribute DWC and MADE by DWC e-newsletters
  7. Manage Google AdWords, social media advertising, and other direct marketing/pay-per-click
  8. Monitor, analyze and report on social media, email marketing, and website performance; translate data into recommendations and plans for improvement
  9. Online community management: Respond to messages and comments on our DWC and MADE by DWC social media accounts; Identify and re-post relevant content on applicable DWC and MADE by DWC social media pages to help expand our social media presence
  10. Grasp future trends, and propose creative ideas and solutions to ensure we are constantly innovating in the digital space
  11. Perform administrative tasks relative to the scope of the position
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Communications and Policy

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Schedule and Benefits 
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Office hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. This position is eligible for DWC’s comprehensive benefits package that includes training, paid time off, and medical, vision, dental, parking and transportation benefits.

No travel is expected for this position. 

Required Education and Experience 

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or other related field
  2. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience (which includes social media management, digital marketing, graphic design, and/or other digital marketing functions)

Required Knowledge/Skills/Position Qualifications

  1. Exceptional command of graphic design with Adobe Suite (inDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  2. Exceptional social media management and digital campaign skills
  3. Strong and concise written communication ability, including direct-response copywriting and ability to disseminate and transform complex information into engaging content
  4. Proficiency in digital advertising and SEO, including social media ads and keyword research
  5. Experience in print and web production with a solid comprehension of correct file formats, color modes, and image resolution demanded by individual job applications
  6. Knowledge of social media platforms, strategic approaches to those platforms and other components of web-based promotions
  7. Camera/photographic experience including studio and/or product photography with strong retouching capabilities
  8. Superior sensitivity to deadline-based initiatives and good independent project management skills
  9. Demonstrated creative capability and social media management in a fast-paced environment
