In conjunction with PSR-LA’s leadership, the Director of Development will execute an annual development plan and provide leadership over the development and management of individual donors and members, corporate and foundation relations, board communication and special events. This will be an opportunity for the right candidate to build a new fund development infrastructure that will support the sustainability of the agency and its programs. The Director of Development will work closely with PSR-LA’s Executive and Associate Director as well as PSR-LA program leads.

Job Duties:

● Devise a fund development infrastructure including internal controls;

● Create and implement an individual giving, membership, and major gifts program that has a strategy for long-term growth;

● Provide support to the Board of Directors through coaching and solicitation resources;

● Train and guide team members in relation to fund development;

● Work closely with the Executive Director in developing relationships with foundations and supporting grant submission process;

● Oversee the development and execution of special events;

● Develop and manage fundraising campaigns including online/mail appeals, gift processing and acknowledgements;

● Grant writing/and coordination

● Continuous management of donor database including grant tracking;

● Craft communications for donor and volunteer engagement;

● Maintain donor specific content on website and social media.



● 5-7 years of nonprofit fund development experience (management level)

● Success cultivating and supporting the solicitation of major gifts, and grant proposals

● Exceptional writing and presentation skills

● Experience with grant proposal submissions and reporting

● Experience working with Board of Directors and executive leadership

● Knowledge of budgets and other financial documents

● Superior prospect research skills

● Demonstration of achieving fundraising targets

● Knowledge of best practices in philanthropy

● Experience managing donor database (including creating reports)

● High level project management skills

● Creative, positive attitude and highly resourceful

● Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively

● Organized, detailed oriented and ability to create systems
