The school was founded in 1958 and expanded its highly regarded elementary and junior high program to include a high school in 2016. The high school and K-8 divisions are located on separate campuses just 1.5 miles apart.

Overview
Sequoyah School is expanding its Health & Wellness program and seeks a dynamic team leader to support this growth. This position will work closely with the Academic Leadership team to fortify and further develop a scope and sequence across the K-12, and will be excited to build systems, policies, and practices for a strong program and student support system.
Key arenas of work include:

Full-time (10-12 month – position negotiable)
Reports to: Director of Teaching and Learning
Salary Range: $90-115K
Key areas of work include:
*Manage data-informed program development
*Design the program to assure inclusive practice for all students
*Plan and implement faculty professional development and training
*Advise and collaborate with Deans and Directors on individuated student plans
*Develop relationships with diverse outside specialists to assure resources for all students
*Manage and direct a team of counselors
Roles & responsibilities
Specific Roles & Responsibilities
Leadership
*Develop the K-12 Health & Wellness program, including budgeting, strategic planning and annual program evaluation.
*Manage the Health & Wellness team, and work closely with deans of students, Director of *Learning Services, Director of Teaching & Learning, High School Director, Assistant Head of *School/K-8 Director and other members of the administration to determine how to best identify and address the needs of students' wellbeing.
*Demonstrate cultural competence in interpersonal communication
*Support parent education coffees/meetings to help our community learn about important issues related to adolescent development and parenting.
*Work with administration to determine and deliver relevant training for staff, students and parents
Counseling
*Daily Office Hours (with an appointment system) including but not limited to breaks, lunch, and after school
*Prioritize equipping students to be in class
*Refer students who need regular counseling for outside support
Teaching
*Teach Health & Wellness classes: 9th-12th grade classes (10-11 a.m., M-Th) are co-taught with the part-time Health & Wellness Specialist / Counselor, generally focused at K8.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a counselor, therapist, or psychologist and must have experience working with middle or high school students.
Successful candidates will also have the following qualifications:
*A graduate degree in counseling, therapy, psychology, or related field
*License Preferred - MSW, LCSW, LMHC, NCC
*Background as a psychologist, mental health counselor, or clinical social worker
*A commitment to equity and inclusion
*Strong interpersonal skills
*An understanding of anti-bias and anti-racist practices
*Demonstrated ability to provide effective emotional, psychological, and social support
*Demonstrated ability to be a valuable resource for students, parents, faculty, and staff
*Ability to to develop strong relationships with outside specialists and health professionals to determine needed supports and strategies for students.

The anticipated salary range the School reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $90,000 - 115,000, depending on factors such as experience or education.
