Northeast Graffiti Busters (NEGB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the removal of graffiti, street sweeping, and sidewalk cleaning. Additionally, we handle refuse collection from receptacles located along commercial corridors and provide landscaping services such as watering, planting, and maintenance of sidewalk trees and street median vegetation. Our primary objective is to eliminate visual blight and negative influences, while improving the aesthetic appeal of key commercial corridors and neighborhoods in the greater Los Angeles area.

About this job

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for assisting with payroll processing and related administrative task to ensure accurate and timely payment to our employees.

Roles & responsibilities

● Review and correct electronic timesheets for payroll processing.

● Answer phones and greet customers

● Assist in the preparation, processing, and distribution of payroll for employees on a weekly basis.

● Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

● Process payroll deductions and retirement contributions.

● Prepare and submit payroll reports to management on a weekly and monthly basis

● Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.

● Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile payroll transactions and resolve discrepancies.

● Assist in the preparation of payroll-related documents for audits and compliance purposes.

● Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

● Fluency in Spanish is essential, given that many of our employees primarily speak Spanish.

● Previous experience in payroll processing or related administrative roles is preferred.

● Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.

● Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.

● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

● Strong organizational and time management skills.

● Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

● Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

● High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in accounting or payroll

administration is a plus.
