Legacy LA is seeking a full-time After-School Site Coordinator for its Beyond the Bell high school after-school programs. The Site Coordinator will develop, implement, and oversee an after-school program that provides daily after-school academic, recreation, and academic enrichment activities for students. They will also provide and facilitate college activities and academic events each month.

Roles & responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of the after-school program

- Supervise staff of 4 to 10 tutors, athletics and/or enrichment instructors to organize and facilitate after-school program events and field trips

- Train and supervise staff in the after-school program

- Organize a schedule of academic, recreation, and enrichment activities

- Establish and maintain communication with regular day and after-school staff, administrators, Legacy LA staff, students, and families regarding all aspects of student involvement in the program

- Plan & implement recruitment and retention strategies to ensure daily attendance requirements are met

- Follow school and Legacy LA procedures and policies for the safe operation of after-school program

- Conduct surveys for periodic program evaluations, including surveys of students, staff, and parents

- Review, approve and submit timecards by the deadline

- Submit all required documentation on a timely basis

- Travel to staff meetings, school meetings, and trainings as scheduled and required

- Basic knowledge of A-G requirements, SAT/PSAT deadlines, and college resources on-site

- Ensure college/career curriculums are implemented once a month

- High school English and math tutoring experience (advanced math tutoring a plus)

- Maintain accurate records (i.e., attendance, student registration forms, staff sign-in sheets, etc.)

- Maintain documentation relating to staff performance issues; provide guidance to staff as needed

- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent education; Bachelor’s preferred.

- Must have one or more years of experience working with high school students

- Minimum three years of experience working in afterschool programs

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

- Previous supervisory experience required; ability to supervise and work in a team environment

- Must have knowledge of computers and software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe etc.)

- Ability to work independently and work under strict deadlines

- Ability to work with varied populations, such as administrators, teachers, parents, and students

- Some evenings and weekends may be required

- Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus

- Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting)

- Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) dated within 60 days prior to hire date

- Must have reliable transportation to arrive at the work site at scheduled time consistently.

- Must complete CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment

- Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker’s compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned
