The Latino Coalition for Community Leadership (LCCL) finds, funds, forms, and features nonprofits in marginalized communities meeting the needs of individuals and families. We are a grant intermediary, administering Federal and State grants and contracts that are sub-granted to multiple non-profit Community Partners in two states. This year, the LCCL will administer more than $10m in grants to grassroots organizations that are uniquely skilled to meet their community needs with a level of cultural sensitivity, understanding, and competence. We are a small, dedicated team of professionals who operate in a decentralized structure. There is no main reporting office, each position works from home. The LCCL utilizes a virtual office and this position will work 95% from their own home office, with some travel to local Community Partner locations.

This position is a key member of the Fiscal Team and reports to the Director of Fiscal Management and Learning. This position will be integral in monitoring and reporting sub-grant spending as well as responding to training needs of Community Partners. This position will contribute to the development of a strong team to support the LCCL’s goals. This position will require travel to Community Partner sites and statewide meetings on a quarterly basis, and annual staff events held in Colorado or California. *Only candidates living in either Colorado or California will be considered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting and Grant Management:
● Review and reconcile Community Partner requests for reimbursements and maintain accurate accounting files.
● Manage financial reporting for Community Partners and provide support for the grant administration process
● Contribute to grant-level monthly budget status and progress reports
● Review grant documentation and assist on compliance with State, Federal, and contractual regulations and requirements, specifically pertaining to sub-grants to our Community Partners
● Participate in the fiscal review process for Community Partners
● Perform ongoing oversight of Community Partner billing, pertaining to budget and participant spending analysis.
● Assist with general maintenance of Community Partner fiscal files and records, including the creation of budget templates, cost allocation worksheets, and other related reporting.
Financial Reporting and Training:
● Review partner financial reporting for accuracy and completeness
● Review partner budgets and policy documents and apply knowledge to other fiscal processes.
● Review and assist with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal or state representatives and auditors.
● Understand and coach on LCCL fiscal standards and provide technical assistance to CPs on LCCL Fiscal Systems
● Assess the quality of documentation or tracking, make recommendations and remediate training
● Complete regular in-person and/or virtual site visits with each CP
● Coach partner fiscal staff according to identified needs, responding to submission errors, and problem-solving internal control and calculation issues.
● Advising partner staff on GAAP and “best-practice” for non-profit entities
● Training and coaching new and existing community partners with varying skill levels on policy and compliance areas
Qualifications
Education and Experience
● BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business related field or equivalent working experience
● 5+ years increasingly responsible nonprofit accounting experience
● Reliable transportation for expected travel to local site visits and quarterly meetings
● Proven functional knowledge of day-to-day financial and accounting management for nonprofits
● Proven experience offering Technical Assistance to an audience with widely varied understanding of accounting principles
● Knowledge of GAAP, business principles and standard operating practices
● Understanding of Federal grant requirements, including the Federal Uniform Guidance as well as experience managing State, County, and City contracts preferred.
● Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
● Interest in and commitment to community needs, especially reentry and victims’ services.
