The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Development Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Development to manage donor data, support communications with donors and the Board of Directors, and facilitate donor recognition, to support the Buhai Center’s work to empower individuals facing domestic violence, poverty, housing insecurity, and other barriers to stability. Roles & responsibilities
Key Features of this Job:
• Data Management & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely entry of donor data into DonorPerfect, produce reports on donor activity, and manage communication lists.
• Donor Engagement and Recognition: Prepare thank-you letters, renewal notices, and solicitations, and track donor giving.
• Donor Research & Grant Support: Conduct research to identify potential donors and assist in writing projects as needed.
• Collaborative Role: Work closely with the Director of Development and Executive Director to support strategic fundraising initiatives and organizational growth.
Qualifications
Essential Job Qualifications:
• A minimum of an AA, BA, BS, or equivalent.
o Degrees in business administration, nonprofit administration, hospitality, statistics or data science, communications, or related fields may align well with this role.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience preferred.
• Proficient in data entry/hygiene, data management, and database systems (experience with DonorPerfect is preferred). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Self-starter with proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on donor relations.
• Experience with event planning and coordination is a plus.
• Passion for the mission of the Buhai Center and a desire to contribute to its impact.
