We are seeking a full-time Compliance & Finance Manager to strengthen our financial management, grant administration, and donor systems while contributing to the growth of new funding opportunities. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong organizational and analytical skills who is eager to contribute to nonprofit impact and sustainability.
Roles & responsibilities
Grant Compliance & Reporting
- Track grant requirements, deadlines, and reporting schedules.
- Collect and compile data for grant reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Provide leadership and funders with budgets, financial reports, and narrative updates.
- Maintain compliance with grant guidelines and documentation requirements.
Financial Management
- Oversee bookkeeping processes including expense tracking, coding, and reconciliations.
- Manage budget monitoring and cash flow tracking for multiple program sites.
- Generate monthly internal financial reports for leadership and board review.
- Support audit preparation and grant financial reviews.
Donor Systems & Stewardship
- Manage donor database/CRM, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Generate donor acknowledgement letters, tax receipts, and follow-up communications.
- Track donor pledges, recurring gifts, and campaign performance.
- Provide reports and analysis on donor giving trends to inform strategy.
Fundraising Support
- Conduct grant research to identify new funding opportunities aligned with the mission.
- Manage preparation of letters of inquiry and grant applications.
- Identify prospective donors, sponsors, and corporate partners.
- Participate in donor meetings as appropriate, sharing program stories and impact.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on annual fundraising campaigns and donor cultivation activities.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with leadership, program and communications staff to align outcomes with funder expectations.
- Support storytelling and data collection that highlight youth success and program impact.
- Assist leadership with annual fundraising campaigns and events by managing tracking systems and donor follow-up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Nonprofit Management, Grant Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-5 years of experience in nonprofit finance, grant administration, or donor systems preferred.
- Strong skills in spreadsheets, data entry, and financial tracking.
- Familiarity with donor management software or CRM systems.
- Ability to manage deadlines and keep multiple projects organized.
- Strong writing and communication skills, especially for reports and donor follow-up.
- Detail-oriented and analytical with a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Passion for workforce development, equity, and community impact.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events and fundraisers.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between Highland Park, Pasadena, and partner sites.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) a plus.
