Cesar Chavez Foundation (CCF) is seeking a full-time Strategic Communications Coordinator who, under the supervision of the Senior Communications Strategist, plans, coordinates, and executes CCF’s social media activity in order to drive CCF’s mission. This activity includes day-to-day management of CCF’s social media platforms as well as goals and objectives set by Strategic Communications staff. Activity includes daily posts across a number of social media accounts as well as community engagement and monitoring and asset/content collection.
Roles & responsibilities
In conjunction with the Senior Communications Strategist, oversee CCF’s social media plan and execution of the strategy
Vet new social channels and opportunities for CCF to integrate into social strategy
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
Create and curate engaging content, including posts, images, videos, and infographics, that align with the CCF's mission and programs
Collect photos and/or videos taken at CCF events and maintain photo files for ongoing use; create, edit and upload photos and videos to CCF website and social media outlets
Support Strategic Communications team on brand management and marketing across digital platforms
Set up and optimize CCF’s pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the organization’s social content
Moderate all user-generated content and conversations with the community and CCF partners
Create and implement content calendars for all social channels and ensure that the content calendar is planned out 60-120 days in advance
Capture social data/metrics, insights and stay on top of key industry trends and emerging social media platforms
Identify and support cross-fund and CCF marketing opportunities across digital platforms
Collect, manage, and maintain digital assets creation, approval, and archiving system
Qualifications
BA in Communications, Marketing, or related field or 3-4 years of communications experience in a non-profit environment preferred
Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media coordinator
Creative, self-motivated, resourceful with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote team
Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills
Proficiency in working with social media platforms and apps like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram (reels), TikTok, and social analytics tools knowledge
Experience implementing marketing campaigns
Experience creating storylines, shooting, and/or editing videos for social
Experience with paid social campaigns
Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style, AP Stylebook, and/or content style guides generally
Familiarity with basic graphic design tools, photo editing software, particularly Photoshop
Knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO, Sprout Social, online marketing and major marketing channels, web design
Travel required
