About this organization

The mission of the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC) is to change lives and create safe, healthy communities by providing a support and advocacy network for, and comprised of, formerly incarcerated men and women to accomplish this mission. ARC advocates for fair policies in the juvenile and criminal justice systems and provides a supportive network of reentry services to formerly incarcerated individuals. Learn more at: .

A critical part of ARC’s work is in providing support to emerging adults incarcerated in and returning home from the juvenile justice system to live healthy, both physically and mentally, socially connected and prosocial lives. Since it was founded in 2013, ARC has provided life coaching, mentoring, therapeutic, occupational and educational support to directly impacted emerging adults.

About this job

Transitional Aged Youth transitioning home from incarceration in the juvenile justice system face a variety of challenges through which they need consistent and dedicated support. In addition to facing the challenges of community reentry, including overcoming the trauma of incarceration, emerging adults also need support working through the challenges of transitioning to adulthood. They must also achieve important milestones like finding meaningful employment and completing higher education in order to help improve their chances of healthy living and prosocial development. Therefore, ARC is looking for an Emerging Adult Workforce and Education Coordinator to support ARC’s Transitional Aged Youth in obtaining meaningful employment and accessing and completing various forms of higher education. The ideal candidate absolutely loves working with young people.

The Coordinator will take full-responsibility for preparing ARC’s Transitional aged youth members for employment and higher education by leading career readiness workshops, providing further résumé and interviewing support, supporting members through various educational applications and programs, identifying resources within and beyond ARC to support this work and developing relationships with employers and programs of higher education to create further opportunity for ARC’s emerging adult community. The ideal candidate for this position has both lived experience and demonstrated experience with youth aged 18-25. This position requires full and thorough knowledge of the specific and unique needs of this population. This position will be supervised by ARC’s Director of Workforce and Education Development.
