Full-time Associate Director (salary 40 hours/week, exempt)
Reports to Clinical Director and CEO
Airport Marina Counseling Service (AMCS), a non-profit, community mental health clinic has a full-time Associate Director position available for a licensed clinician (Psychologist/LMFT/LCSW) to join our professional team. We have been serving its mission for over 60 years: to offer accessible and inclusive mental health services to the community and to provide quality training to pre-licensed therapists. AMCS is known in the community for the quality of our services, as well as possessing a reputation among academic programs as providing remarkable training in psychodynamic therapy. AMCS is seeking an Associate Director who is an engaging supervisory group facilitator and a team member who appreciates a leadership role in running a community mental health clinic and training pre-licensed therapists.
Work Week Schedule:
• The position is a hybrid position.
Salary:
• Salary range is commensurate with community mental health clinics starting at $85K+.
Roles & responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Facilitating a weekly supervision group with no more than eight pre-licensed therapists assisting them in developing the following skills: conducting a clinical interview, assessing history and symptoms, deriving a DSM5 diagnoses and professional report writing. Director is responsible for reviewing progress notes and initial consultation (intake) summary reports.
• Teaching supervisees how to apply theoretical conceptualization to inform the treatment
• Work with supervisees to assess and determine if the needs of clients are best met by AMCS or a referral.
• Teach training therapists to assess for potential safety, legal and ethical issues.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Review and approve clinical documentation for professionalism, quality and accuracy.
• Review client files for completion and readiness for services.
• Assist with assigning of clients to therapists for ongoing services once approved for treatment at AMCS.
• Evaluate skill development of training therapists.
• Monitor supervisee’s compliance with policies and procedures of AMCS.
• Provide feedback to therapists, including evaluations and communications with their universities.
• Assist with facilitating Supervisor’s Meetings held the first Weds. of every month from noon-2pm.
• Coordinate the recruitment and assist with interviewing of applicants to the AMCS training program.
• Assist with orientation of new training cohorts, including the collection of required paperwork
• Consistent communication with the universities attended by training therapists – including evaluation forms.
• Monitor, coordinate and expand the training curriculum and expert speakers for biweekly presentations
• Attend weekly Leadership meetings with CEO, Clinical Director and Administrative Manager.
• Monitor the Initial Consultations (intakes), including monthly statistics and grant programs.
• Assist in creating a program to work with community partners in servicing the unhoused or recently unhoused population.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Active California license in good standing: Psychologists, LMFT or LCSW.
• Minimum of three years post-licensure experience.
• Strong background in clinical interviewing and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to provide feedback in a diplomatic manner.
• Must have completed the supervisor’s training class before supervising.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working with the unhoused population preferred.
• Management experience working with the unhoused population is preferred.
