APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. About this job

The Development Coordinator will provide high quality general support for the Development department focusing on gift processing including in-kind with a strong focus on donor stewardship. The Development Coordinator position will also provide auxiliary support to the Engagement and Fundraising teams, including agency fundraising events, special events or distributions in relation to in-kind donations and donor stewardship. By working closely with seasoned development professionals, the Development Coordinator will have the opportunity to learn about multiple aspects of nonprofit fundraising. This is a hybrid role that combines in-person work at the APCH Center with remote work. While APCH is pleased to offer flexible scheduling, our expectation is that the individual in this role will be fully present during regular business hours even when working remotely, participatory in special evening and weekend engagements and on-site at our vibrant campus as required.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Gift Processing and Development Operations
  • Provide and facilitate connection between Development and internal and external partners for any in-kind needs, including related resources and database accounts;
  • Coordinate the logistics and serve as main contact for all in-kind donation pick-ups or deliveries with the donor and APCH departments such as security, facilities, transportation and programs;
  • Ensure that all in-kind donations of goods and services are processed, entered and tracked accurately in donor database;
  • Coordinate and manage the organizations in-kind inventory and serve as primary point of contact;
  • Manage in-kind training for new employees and interns on proper in-kind receipt protocol
  • Manage donor acknowledgement processes in a timely manner and log historical information on Salesforce;
  • Assist with monetary donation gift entry and acknowledgment;
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly and yearly processing reconciliations and reports with Accounting and Auditors;
  • Assist with donation reports from Salesforce as requested;
  • Conduct in-person donation pick-ups (after being cleared and passing APCH’s course to drive agency vehicles);
  • Assist with upkeep and management of Salesforce, our primary fundraising platform.
  • Donor Stewardship and Engagement
  • Assist with donor engagement plans and processes to ensure timely and appropriate stewardship;
  • Work with Associate Director of Development and other colleagues to assist with visits, stewardship events and special recognition (e.g., garden bouquets or other gifts), in alignment with established stewardship levels and protocols;
  • Create stewardship materials, briefings and assist in managing donor visits and meetings in collaboration with fundraisers and senior Development staff;
  • Complete prospect research of new opportunities as requested by the Fundraising team, including inquiring and soliciting new donations as needed by the agency;
  • Assist with tracking donor activity and notes in Salesforce for cultivation and stewardship purposes;
  • Work alongside the Engagement team to implement special event initiatives including Boutique and Auction components that include donations and external partner management;
  • Support the all-hands production of annual APCH fundraising events; provide back office and general support for events including financial tracking, reporting, logistics and other areas as required;
  • Serve as an ambassador of the agency including providing tours to donors and other stakeholders, representing the agency at external functions, etc.;
  • Adhere to best safety practices at all times;
  • Regular attendance, accountability, and punctuality with regard to work meetings, professional development sessions, and commitments;
  • Provide administrative support as needed for departmental tracking and reporting;
  • Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all times;
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Degree: Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with Non-Profit Development and/or Fundraising experience; Salesforce experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience in areas of gift processing

  • Walking, standing required on daily basis
  • Sitting and use of hands/vision for computer work for extended periods of time
  • Lift up to 30 pounds occasionally, willingness to engage in manual labor in support of agency events and special initiatives
