Internship Description:

Tierra del Sol Foundation  Arts Management Internship at Sunland Studio Arts

The role of the Arts Management Intern is to assist the Program Director of Sunland Studio Arts in the following areas: arts and gallery management, arts education workshops, graphic design and production, curatorial strategies, special events planning, marketing and promotion, grant research and development.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for art and social justice, is self-motivated, can work independently or collaboratively, and is able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, expanding environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exhibition budget proposals including costs for announcements, framing, installations, opening receptions and seeking sponsorships for exhibitions.
  • Design and create exhibition announcements, press releases and other promotional materials.
  • Assist Arts Team in preparation, framing and installation of artwork for various exhibitions.
  • Maintain artwork inventory in Sunland Studio Artist portfolios and assist with sales.
  • Assist Arts Team in the development of collaborative projects and exhibitions with commercial galleries, nonprofit organizations and guest artists/curators.
  • Assist Program Director in planning, organizing and conducting a variety of pop-up Workshops at Tierra's weekly Farmer Market. This includes drafting lesson-plans and promotional flyers, preparing teaching teams to lead workshops, and scheduling guests in workshops. This also includes greeting guests, assisting with set up, conducting workshops and clean-up.
