About LA2050

LA2050 is a community-guided initiative driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles. Our mission is to engage and activate Angelenos to shape the future of the region and make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live by the year 2050.

What we do:

  • Researching and reporting on LA’s trajectory and the solutions to place LA on a successful path forward

  • Highlighting the stories and work of Awesome Angelenos and civic organizations shaping the future of our region for the better

  • Setting an optimistic and ambitious roadmap for the region

  • Designing campaigns, hosting events and trainings, and driving digital communications to educate and empower Angelenos to take action on important issues impacting their future

  • Activating and mobilizing Angelenos to achieve a vision of Los Angeles that ensures prosperity for all residents

To help achieve our mission, LA2050 is seeking to add a paid digital content intern to our team for the fall semester. We’re looking for someone who loves creating engaging content, is driven, dynamic, creative, passionate about all things Los Angeles, and can dedicate up to 20 hours a week to working with us.

What you’ll do:

  • Curate and create content for social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Take the lead on managing content series for Instagram stories, including video content

  • Design and execute experiments with digital content

  • Engage with LA2050 audience and similar accounts

  • Provide support on reporting and analyzing content performance and engagement across social media channels in a way that results in action

  • Support strategy to grow and engage the LA2050 audience

  • Research and apply best practices and emerging trends + innovations in digital content

How to know you’re a great fit:

  • Strong understanding of LA2050’s style, brand, and mission

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in communications, journalism, marketing, video production or photography, advertising, public relations, or other relevant field

  • Strong researching, writing, and editing skills

  • Relevant internship experience working on digital content

  • Organized, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and calmly

  • An enthusiastic, humble, graceful, and collaborative approach to work

  • Ability to take initiative and produce self-directed work

  • Resourcefulness and high researching ability

  • Familiar with insights and ads on social media channels

  • Interest in applying media + analytics to support shaping the future of Los Angeles
