About Venice Arts
Venice Arts is a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to ignite youths’ imagination, mentor their creativity, and expand their sense of possibility through high quality, accessible media–based arts education programs. Venice Arts also serves as a catalyst for people of all ages, living in low–income or underrepresented communities, to create and share personal and community stories through photography, film, multi–media and visual arts.
Venice Arts seeks artists-educators who are accomplished teaching a multi-disciplinary visual arts curriculum to young children. Artist-educators should demonstrate an understanding of project-based learning and a child-centered approach, and must be able to create a syllabus that builds foundational knowledge in the visual arts, while including analogue and digital photography, film, and/or animation activities. Standard class times are Tuesdays, 4-6pm for children ages 6-7 and Saturdays, 10am-12pm for children ages 8-9.
Venice Arts ignites, expands, and transforms the lives of Los Angeles’ low- income youth through photography and film education, and uses its participatory storytelling practices to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities around the world.
