Children’s Bureau of Southern California seeks a forward-thinking, visionary leader as its next President & Chief Executive Officer. Since 1904, Children’s Bureau has been a nonprofit leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. More than 30,000 children and families are helped each year throughout southern California with services that include school readiness, parenting classes, family resource centers, support groups, mental health counseling, foster care, and adoption. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising and assessing Children’s Bureau operations in support of its newly established Strategic Plan. The President & CEO will provide a vison and operational leadership for the organization’s future growth and development. He/she will oversee the budget of $32 million and a staff of 293 full-time and 33 part- time employees. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a diverse human service, corporate or nonprofit organization that is recognized for its commitment of exemplary service to the community. Proven fundraising experience and the ability to relate comfortably with a variety of funding sources, including public funding stream contacts, foundations, and individuals is essential. The ability to provide exceptional programmatic results while simultaneously growing an organization’s talent, systems, and processes to enhance its impact will be valued. Ideally, candidates will hold recognized stature in the field in which he/she has principally worked. An understanding of current developments in the field of human services and their potential impact on the agency would be valued. Spanish language competency would be beneficial. A bachelor’s degree is required. An advanced degree in business, social work, clinical care, public policy, or related field would be desirable.
