Social Venture Partners Los Angeles (SVP) builds powerful partnerships to tackle our community’s most pressing social challenges. We are building a dynamic team that will grow our ability to support innovative, emerging nonprofits, cultivate effective philanthropists, and invest in collaborative, long-term solutions.

We are seeking a full-time Program Manager to co-create and execute SVP’s core programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social justice and systems change, and an enthusiasm and track record for blending innovation and equity principles to support the growth of and synergy between emerging nonprofits and philanthropists. SVP promotes a culture of curiosity, entrepreneurship, and growth for all of its team members.


Program Design & Implementation

  • Work collaboratively with SVP stakeholders to design and implement a year-long program to support the growth of emerging and innovative nonprofits
  • Manage the outreach, application, and selection process of nonprofits for SVP programs
  • Oversee the two-month intensive coaching program for the Social Innovation Fast Pitch
  • Craft additional support opportunities for nonprofit alumni of SVP leadership programs
  • Design and conduct ongoing assessments of SVP’s impact with nonprofits, in service of continuous program improvement

Donor & Volunteer Engagement & Retention

  • Work collaboratively with SVP stakeholders to design and execute an annual calendar of educational, engagement and social events that further SVP’s mission
  • Support Partner onboarding and engagement to ensure Partners are linked to volunteer opportunities that align with their skills and interests
  • Assist with funder prospecting, grant writing and reporting

Event Planning & Execution

  • Oversee the planning and execution of the Social Innovation Fast Pitch event
  • Coordinate the volunteer planning teams and ensure successful execution of sponsorship, program planning, application review, coaching, and venue selection
  • Manage event budget, registration, logistics, marketing and communications
  • Conduct feedback surveys and create corresponding written reports

Communication/Community Engagement

  • Develop and manage online content, including website, blog and social media
  • Publish monthly newsletter
  • Routinely communicate important information to SVP community
  • Work with contractors to develop collateral and other materials


  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant work experience in social change, including systems change, organizing, policy, volunteer engagement, or philanthropy
  • Demonstrated passion & commitment to social justice, and strong working knowledge and systemic analysis of social issues
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit & philanthropic landscape of Los Angeles
  • Exhibits curiosity & love of learning
  • Track record of utilizing creative strategies to engage stakeholders and maintain effective working relationship with diverse groups
  • Can successfully consolidate competing priorities from stakeholders toward a plan
  • Ability to transfer thoughts and ideas into concrete, coherent actions, while applying continuous quality improvement processes to evaluate outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an energetic & fast-paced team
  • Exercises initiative, flexibility, discretion, and solid decision making
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make appropriate adjustments to changing circumstances as necessary
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, SalesForce (or similar CRM), and online tools and databases


This is a full-time exempt position based in Los Angeles, CA. SVPLA offers competitive salary, and vacation and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
