About LA2050 and the Goldhirsh Foundation

Our mission at the Goldhirsh Foundation is to identify the brightest emerging talent and plug them into the tools to best support their success. We fund social innovation efforts across these three areas: opportunity, sustainability, and activation and awareness, with a particular focus on Los Angeles. The largest initiative of the Goldhirsh Foundation is LA2050, which is driving and tracking progress toward a shared vision for the future of Los Angeles. LA2050 seeks to engage and activate Angelenos to shape the future of the region and make LA the best place to learn, create, play, connect, and live by the year 2050.

To help achieve our mission, we would like to add a paid digital content intern to our team for the fall semester. We’re looking for someone who loves creating engaging content, is driven, dynamic, creative, passionate about all things Los Angeles, and can dedicate 15-25 hours over at least three days per week to working with us. The ideal start date is immediate, ending mid-December. There is an opportunity for this internship to be extended.

The intern will:

  • Curate, create, and schedule content for social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Research and apply best practices and emerging trends + innovations in digital content to help grow the social networks for each of the brand

  • Use social media analytics to inform social media strategies

  • Take the lead on managing content series for Instagram stories, possibly including video content

  • Design and execute experiments with digital content

  • Provide support on reporting and analyzing content performance and engagement across social media channels in a way that results in action

  • Maintain the jobs boards on our websites

How to know you’re a great fit:

  • Strong understanding of the Goldhirsh Foundation’s and LA2050’s style, brand, and mission

  • Student currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited university or community college

  • Strong researching, writing, and editing skills

  • Organized, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and calmly

  • An enthusiastic, humble, graceful, and collaborative approach to work

  • Ability to take initiative and produce self-directed work

  • Resourcefulness and high researching ability

  • Familiar with insights and ads on social media channels

  • Interest in applying media + analytics to support shaping the future of Los Angeles
