The following provides a general description of duties and a more specific description of requirements for the Medical Countermeasure Planning Specialist. Please note that the summary of responsibilities and required abilities identified below are not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
The Medical Countermeasure Planning Specialist will conduct special studies and lead projects for identifying and analyzing problems related to systems for dispensing of medical countermeasures and recommend solutions to maximize effectiveness of staffing allocations and efficiency of dispensing procedures to develop and evaluate mass dispensing strategies of preventive medication in response to a public health disaster. This position will also be responsible for preparing guidelines· to gather data needed to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of medical countermeasure dispensing strategies.
Assist in identifying and analyzing problems related to public health emergency systems for medical countermeasure dispensing and recommend solutions;
Conduct special studies and projects to gather and analyze data to evaluate and provide recommendations to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of medical countermeasure dispensing system;
Prepare and maintain procedure manuals for evaluating emergency medical countermeasure dispensing systems and strategies;
Gather data needed to prepare reports requiring specialized knowledge of DPH's public health emergency medical countermeasure system;
Provide assistance to DPH on developing, coordinating and evaluating public health emergency plans, training programs and exercises;
Analyze and interpret legislative proposals, Federal guidance, state, and County policies and plans;
Prepare reports and applications to meet CDC grant requirements; and
Perform other duties that may require performing work after traditional business hours, on weekends, and/or holidays.
